Hi, I’m Wendy Mitchell.
I Am Abundant is more than a business for me - it’s a reflection of what I believe in.
After training as a Life Coach, I backed away from the Coaching industry - disillusioned with what I saw. I felt the industry shift toward grand promises of transformation and 10k months. It was all marketing and little substance, and it saddened me.
No one can promise you riches or success. No one can promise you transformation. Only you can do that.
I Am Abundant was borne out of a desire to help people notice what they had - already in their lives, and inside them.
We all have the ability to achieve, to change, to find joy. Sometimes we just need a little mindset shift to notice.
Coaching
After years working in finance and accounts, the year I turned 40, I reviewed my life. I wasn’t excited about what I saw for my future.
So, I decided to make some changes. I embarked on a journey of a self-development and growth.
Working with coaches and mentors I was pushed outside my comfort zone. I was overwhelmed, scared, vulnerable and on the verge of giving up many times! I didn’t give up and after retraining, I decided to make a change in my career.
I initially brought my coaching skills into my bookkeeping work, and helped clients gain clarity and alignment around the work and life finances, but it didn’t feel enough.
After launching the I Am Abundant journal, I realised I wanted to create a coaching offering that was not about money, but Abundance.
Abundance can surround us, and I want to help as many people as possible, not just business-owners, discover the abundance in their lives, thus the I Am Abundant Coaching programme came to be.
The Journal
I had a lifelong dream of writing a book, and as a prolific ‘journal-writer’, I decided to combine these. Journaling has been my go-to whenever I needed to mentally unpack, process, download or work through life changes or challenges.
Gradually, my journaling evolved from unpicking the problems to include noticing the good & great in my life. Re-reading journals that were filled with problems and negativity made me realise that I needed to record the good, the exciting and the abundant.
Now my mindset is one of possibility, abundance and gratitude. That shift helps me deal with challenges that come my way, with problems or issues I need to work through and my overall happiness in life.
No blank page syndrome!
Although I’ve journaled since childhood, I still get writers block. Even though it’s my own journal! So, I created a guided journal to help support the process. Answer the prompts to get you started and if your writing moves away from the prompts - that’s OK! It’s about getting it out of your head and on to the page.
Lasting impact
Changing your mindset is not an overnight process. It requires pushing back on years of thought habits and self-talk. Following a structure, and building a habit of gratitude, helps to change your mindset, I Am Abundant takes you on gentle journey to support your mindset change.
